Updated 2020 ACBP TEST

Due to COVID-19 based restrictions the Atlantic City Beach Patrol originally planned on holding our test in the back bays of Atlantic City in groups of five (5) candidates only.  This plan has now changed. We will be holding the 2020 Beach Patrol Test on the beach at South Carolina Avenue (ACBP Headquarters) on Saturday June 13, 2020.

Due to the current restrictions in place in the state of NJ the test format will not be the traditional ACBP test. All candidates will complete a competitive test in group sizes to be determined by the latest CDC and NJDOH social distancing guidelines.

It will be a five (5) part test. Candidates must all complete:

  • 500-Meter Ocean Swim

  • 1/2 Mile Run

  • Ocean Surf Dashes

  • 500-Meter Competitive Ergometer (rowing)

  • Candidate Interview & ACBP Instructor Evaluation

All personnel that have responded to request for physcials or to schedule the re-certification runs and CPR refreshers have been contacted with your assigned date and time for this week. Traditional sign-in for work to start the season at Beach Headquarters has been cancelled. You will receive an email with instructions for sign-in. You will also be receiving an email with direct deposit forms. All personnel that do not currently have direct deposit for paychecks set-up are required to do so in order to be paid this summer as directed by a new city ordinance. You will receive your District assignments and new policies and procedures for the opening prior to starting work this weekend.
